Are There Ways To Save Money On A Reception?
Cutting cost doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. One of the biggest money savers is choosing a naturally beautiful reception site. A ballroom, a beach or a garden can each be fine without adding anything big.
You can also cut costs by limiting your menu to a single entrée, or holding your reception outside of the dinner hour. A brunch, luncheon, or cocktail reception is less expensive than a dinner, and an earlier hour will save you more then having a reception around dinner time.
Choosing favors that serve as more then one purpose such as mini picture frames or you may choose to not have any favors to save even more money. Using non floral center pieces with candles or fruit or choose low price flowers will save you a lot.

I like your philosophy and agree — you shouldn’t have to sacrifice style when cutting costs. I think you gave some great suggestions that would certainly save money, but still add a touch of flair to any reception.

These are great tips. I’d also like to add that shopping around is a big money saver. I was shocked at the range of prices that florists, caterers and photographers charged. By doing a bit of legwork, which can often be done from the comfort of your own home online, you can save cash while never compromising what you want.
