Childhood Asthma

These days you see more young children suffering childhood Asthma than just few years back. Experts attribute it to constant environmental changes to human activity on this planet!! Whatever the root of the cause is – the truth of the matter is children struggle to get few breaths of oxygen.

If your infant is suffering from cold - be watchful and report to your pediatrician any changes in the breathing pattern of your infant. Sometimes infants show noticeable changes only after reaching advanced breathing difficulty.

Well, the advanced medical science has several solutions to the problem. Talking to the pediatrician and planning long term preventive medication is always advisable.

    This is a real problem, and I agree, it is mainly from the environment. In the late 1800’s, people used to come to Phoenix for the weather and clean air, it was conducive to allowing people to heal from consumption, tuberculosis, etc. Now, the air is so bad we have an advertising strategy to bring back blue. It is not uncommon these days to see the “brown cloud” hanging over the city. We are the ones who created the problem, we are the ones to clean it up. It is bad for asthma, however, and it seems our children are suffering.

    While it’s awful that asthma is more prevelant, at least it means that asthma is taken seriously amongst infants now. When I was young, doctors refused to diagnose asthma until you were around two - before them they’d say it was probably a cold of chest infection. It actually took my mother admitting me to hospital before a doctor would admit that’s what I had. Scary stuff.
