Deerhoof stands among ‘07 best
After a quick look back over the last six months in music, a number of greats stand out that are well-deserving of repeated spins on your player, but few are worth mentioning in the same breath as the latest release from San Fran trio Deerhoof, whose electronic experimentations have perked not a few critics ears over the years.
Although much has already been said about Friend Opportunity, their ninth release in a decade-long career, this precise and sporadic 10-track collection is one that will leave a labyrinthine buzz in your ears. Tracks like opener “The Perfect Me” and “Look Away,” a 12-minute wall of noise to close the album, will incessantly repeat in your head with its off-kilter, yet surprisingly catchy tunes.

I’ll have to check these guys out! I’m getting a little worn on Lucinda Williams lately.
