Falling Fan Break’s a Man’s Neck During Yankees Game

Paul Robinson was sitting in sitting in his upper deck seats at Yankee Stadium with his wife and son when a man who had been standing several feet above him fell and landed on him. Robinson is a tourist from
Kirkland Washington. The man who fell has not been identified.

Robinson suffered a broken neck but he is reportedly recovering from his injuries. He is not paralyzed and surgery performed was successful.

“His neck is in a big brace. He’s not paralyzed. Luckily, surgery was very, very successful,” said Steven Osborne, a spokesman for Montefiore Medical Center.

“And this is a miracle, because that vertebrae, if you go a fraction of an inch, you’re paralyzed, or you can’t breathe.”

The EMTs took Robinson to the hospital and it was there that surgeons operated and put a screw in his neck to help it heal.

Meanwhile, the man who fell was dragged away quickly by his friends. He never apologized and he never bothered to see how Robinson was. The Robinson family believes the man was drunk.

“I found it odd that they didn’t even ask if Paul was OK,” said Robinson’s wife, Kathy. “It’s very steep up there, but if it was an innocent trip, they would ask if Paul was OK.”
