Global Warming

Okay, I’m sort of on a science kick, if you will, and decided to write about global warming. A topic I am certain most all of us are familiar with, or at least, has heard something about. After conducting a bit of research, I discovered that 2005 was the warmest year on record, hard to believe when I’m sitting here in 118 degree heat. Anyway, I thought during the heat of the summer, when kids are home, it might be a good time to research global warming and find out how we all can get involved. I think we need our children to be aware of it, and involve everyone in the solution of this terrible catastrophe facing the earth. We cannot begin to fix the problem, until we are familiar with the problem, so please utilize some of the references I am including to familiarize yourself with global warming, and be prepared to answer your children’s questions regarding this topic. You can find great information at the National Geographic site that also has some interactive tools to show children what global warming is and why it is such a problem for the earth. Our icebergs are melting, our surface temperatures are rising, and air pollution still seems to be a problem, and contributing to the global warming. Al Gore is using his notoriety from his former vice presidency to become an advocate for global warming, and continues to do work in this area to bring awareness and solutions to the general population. Find out more about the topic, and how you can get involved to find the solution.
