Guide to Cedar Point
Every summer millions of people flock to Amusement Parks for fun and excitement. While Northwest Ohio is not known for having tons of really great attractions, there is one place everyone should go to at least once in their lifetime. That place is Cedar Point.
Cedar Point is in Sandusky, Ohio. It can easily be accessed via the Ohio Turnpike (Interstates 80/90), and it is well worth the trek. The park alone can take up to a day to explore. There are many impressive roller coasters and other attractions to keep you going all day. If you go to Soak City (the water park), that can also encompass a whole day. The best rule of thumb with Cedar Point is to have a solid game plan. The park has a simple set up. When you first enter the park there is a Midway. The midway takes you back to a fork in the road. You can go either way at that point. The rest of the park is set up in a circle. Most of the bigger coasters are in back in the circle area. The park is massive, so randomly bouncing from ride to ride will never work. The best plan of action is to get there when the gates open or shortly after the gates open. Pick the bigger coaster you want to ride the most. The Magnum, Millennium Force, or the Dragster are all great choices for this. The earlier you get to these rides, the shorter the lines tend to be. The Raptor is another one of the big coasters, but it is on the midway. Since it is one of the first attractions you come across, the line tends build up fast. It is best to wait until the end of the day for that ride. The line tends to be shorter at night, and it is more fun to ride it then anyway. Once you have picked a first ride, make your way around the circle moving from ride to ride. Once you make the full circle make your way back to the front of the park where you can enjoy the indoor coaster, Disaster Transport and cheese on a stick for dinner. After that, you can travel back down the midway and enjoy the classic coaster the Blue Streak and finish up your day on the Raptor.

Yes, I would say one of the main vacation destinations during the summer months are amusement parks. My daughter is graduating from 8th grade next week, and their final field trip is to an amusement park here locally. It sure does seem to generate a lot of revenue during the summer months.
