Honeymoons

Your honeymoon is time to celebrate your new life as a married couple. You don’t have to spend tons of money on your honeymoon but it should reflect your interests as a couple. The groom usually takes the responsibility of the planning but the place should be a joint decision.

You should start planning for your honeymoon months before the wedding. Many locations tend to book quickly. Locations include: Acapulco, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Cancun, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Fiji, Hawaii, Italy, Jamaica, Kauai, Maui, St. Lucia,
Tahiti.

How you choose the place to go to is a very hard decision. You need to figure out where you go before you make any plans. It becomes easier to make plans once the place is chosen. Keep in mind what time of year the wedding is going to take place and talk to your travel agent what place would be appropriate to go to during that time of the year.

Right on! I totally believe all decisions should be made as a couple. This will make the special occasion ideal for both parties.

You are right, a honeymoon is to celebrate your new life as a married couple. Decisions should be made jointly, and you are in this together, and therefore, all topics should be discussed, even when it comes to planning a honeymoon as well as carving your new life.

I second talking to travel agents. Many agencies actually send their staff on trips around the world, so they really know their stuff. We were all set to go to New Caledonia for our honeymoon, until our travel agent told us that it was very expensive, dirty, and had little to do outside the resorts. She listened to what drew us to New Caledonia in the first place, and suggested Fiji might be more our speed. We had a wonderful time, and it never would have happened without her!
