A New Zealand man wanted to experience what it is like to lock oneself into jail and how to break out. Saturday night, the unknown man went into a deserted police station in Matamata, which he assumed was not occupied and decided to get inside cell, not knowing there was an automatic shut in door.
The man used a wooden chair to get away, smashing a window in the cell, which supposed to be damage proof. Local policemen heard an intruding alarm went off and immediately checked to see who broke in the station. By the time officers hurried to the station, the intruder were already gone in the front building while they’d came from the back. Sgt. Graham McGurk said, “It was quite unusual.
The offender has almost done the job for us, getting himself locked in our cell,” The reason is still unknown why the man break in the station and he had not stolen anything from it.

This is one of those articles that just make you ponder. . .why? Maybe the guy has too much time on his hands? Not sure what to make of it, but it was entertaining to read — I can just picture it, and how strange he must have felt when the police arrived
