Kapas Island
From Marang, Kapas Island is just 4 nautical miles away. Kapas islands are made up of two islands, Pulau Gemia and Pulau Kapas. There are plenty of choices and bargains here. You can stay at a dormitory, camping places, island hotels with facilities. A lot of backpackers arrive and depart everyday. This place is full of activity. I’ve never been here, though.Pulau Kapas ranges from 3-20 meters in depth. The marine life and coral are good. Besides being only 6km from Marang, Moorish idols, wrasses and Butterfly fishes can be seen here.
May and October is the best time for diving. The visibility is good then. The Northeast Monsoon comes on November and February. Don’t come for diving then. Rain is very heavy then.

Sounds beautiful. I just saw a documentary on sharks recently, and diving is not the top of my list right at the present moment
But if I were interested, it sounds like a great place to dive. I would love to see their monsoons — I bet they are incredible storms.
