Man’s Missing Shoe Fits Perfectly After Collision
If authorities only can find a suspect based on their shoe size, things can be much easier. At least for
Florida highway troopers, that is. John Glen Aquista, 43, of St. Petersburg, Florida ran his van into a couple’s home in suburban Holiday. The homeowners, Sandy McCombie and Michael Toth watched the driver running away from their front yard after crashing his vehicle right into the bathroom. Luckily for the couple, evidence was left behind- one missing shoe of Aquista’s. After the couple reported the incident to police, Aquista was right on time to meet them as he walked up the troopers at the moment of investigating.
The man appeared bloody with no pants, just boxers, and wearing no shoes. The troopers see Aquista as the perfect fit to be the suspect of a hit and run but according to Aquista, he denied being involved in any type of mishap. But the state troopers proved him wrong when they found the man’s shoe and told him to put it on, and it was a match to Aquista’s foot. As the story ends on a somewhat happy note for McCombie and Toth as the two plans to get marry this Friday, unfortunately for Aquista, he get to spend time in jail for leaving the scene of a hit and run accident, ruining the couple’s property and driving without a driver’s license.
