Spurs To Win It All

The San Antonio Spurs make me mad. Why, you ask? Well its simple, I can’t make any money on them when I go to Vegas. In fact, who DIDN’T have the Spurs picked to come out of the west? Let’s talk about dominance for a second.

Last night I was watching the post game show on ESPN and Stephen A. Smith emphatically told Dan Patrick that he doesn’t consider the Spurs as a dynasty. Smith said that he can’t put the Spurs on the same level as the Bulls of the 90s or the Celtics back when they won 200 championships in a row. Personally, I think that San Antonio is a dynasty. They have been to 4 NBA since 1999. That’s almost one Finals trip every other year if my math is correct. And it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they are back in the Finals this year after an impressive run toward the end of the regular season that was overshadowed by the success of the Dallas Mavericks.

It doesn’t matter if the Detroit Pistons or the Cleveland Cavs are the opponent, the Spurs are a team that will slowly devour a team. Call it boring basketball if you want, I think the correct term should be “methodical” basketball.

This year’s Spurs are dirty, plain and simple. My husband is from Phoenix, so we’re still trying to pull out of that depression. May karma come ’round.

Yeah, they are a tough one to beat. I can see why it angers you because you couldn’t make any money :-) Doesn’t seem like a fair bet at all, when one team is so favored in the polls to win it all. I agree with Heather, too — I’m from Phoenix and they played some dirty ball.
