Spurs/Suns melee
The NBA has just handed down suspensions for last night’s near brawl in San Antonio when Robert Horry body checked Steve Nash at the end of the game. If you watched the game, Horry clearly looked like a linebacker looking to make a kill shot on the running back. Nash flew into the boards and that’s when all hell broke loose.
Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw left the bench in defense for Nash which is an NBA no-no. The rulebook clearly states that if a player leaves the bench and runs onto the floor toward a scuffle or fight will automatically be suspended. I don’t know exactly what verbiage is in that rulebook but, I do know that we won’t be seeing the Suns’ reliable big man. And yes, Bruce Bowen will still play.
Game 5 for the Suns will clearly be tough for the Suns to pull off. And if you’re the Spurs, you should be laughing. To me, it seems that they have the perfect trade off. With Horry being suspended for two games, while Stoudemire and Diaw sit for the next home game work into the Spurs’ favor. The Spurs don’t play dirty, they play smart.
