The Rice Bowl of Malaysia

The ‘Rice Bowl’ of Malaysia is Kedah. You can see the rolling fields of padis when you pass by the place. It is very peaceful here. At least, I think so. My sister lives here.Kedah is in the northwest corner of Malaysia. It covers an area of 9, 425 sq km and is a small state. It has a population of about 1 million. The citizens are Malay, Chinese and Indian minorities

Kedah is rich in culture, dances and songs. It is very close to Thailand. That’s why it is Thai influenced.

Alor Setar is its capital city.

Interesting — the Rice bowl, as you put it, is literally known for the rice which comes from the country. From the demongraphics you listed about the city, I would venture a guess that rice is their main export? It sounds lovely, and very rich in culture.
