White done right
Ready, set, go: from now until Labor Day (if you’re a rules girl) white below the waist is finally appropriate. Wearing white on your lower half can be a mite tricky, so here are a few tips for looking (and feeling) white hot.
1. Don’t overdo it. If you’re wearing a white dress, nix the matching shoes. Try metallic sandals or flats. White pants with white tops are also a little ridiculous: you don’t want to blind your friends in the sun. If you’re feeling lazy, remember that the rules are the same as wearing black: anything matches.
2. Don’t wear your white too tight. The neutral shade is already a little see-through, and if your pants or shorts are too tight, you’ll have an even harder time keeping yourself covered.
3. Wear appropriate lingerie. White or beige underwear won’t stand out, and if your dress is transparent, wear a slip. You may have great legs, but no one wants to see that far up. At least not at a family BBQ.

I think we’ve all been guilty of wearing the wrong color underpants underneath white clothes! This is such an easy mistake to make! Thanks for reminding us all of this faux pas - it certainly made me smile.

I always choose skin-colored undergarments for white clothes. I don’t know about anyone else, but white ALWAYS shows under white for me. I try to find underwear as close to my skin color as possible.
